Today is the first day of Shri Guru Raghavendra Swamy,  annual Araadhana Mahotsava,the occasion of commemorating Shri Raghavendra Swamy’s entry into Brindavana(Samadhi Stithi).  All temples/mutts of Raghavendra Swamy, located in different parts of the country, celebrate this great occasion on three consecutive days with grandeur.

Mantralaya, the abode of the Brindavana, in Andra Pradesh, will be decked up for the grand celebration, catering to devotees across the globe.

On this day, I would like to share the most celebrated chant of the great Soul, the “ASHTakshara Maha Mantra: OM SHRI RAAGHAVENDRAAYA NAMAHA”, in the audio clipping posted below.
“Om shrI raghavEndraayanamaha ityaSHTaakshara mantrataha
japitaadbhaavitaanityam iSHTaarthasyurna samshayaha||16||”
This verse from Shri Raghavendra Stotra, composed by Shri Appannachaarya, describes the significance of the AshTa Akshara(8 lettered phrase: om shri raaghavendraaya namah) thus: One who chants the aSHTaakshara mantra of Om Shri RaaghavEndraayanamaha, daily, shall gain all that he desires for, meaning all his dreams shall come true and there is no doubt about this. Such is the conviction with which the ardent devotee of Shri Raghavendra Swamy has composed this verse.
